HIGH IMPACT GIVING

The CMA Foundation is intentional about building and fostering relationships with grantees. Our partnership model is relational, not transactional. We look for key partners that best align with our areas of focus to result in deeper connection and impact.

For the last decade, the CMA Foundation has been working to make sure all students have access to music by partnering with local communities, teachers, nonprofits, school boards, and government leaders to keep our students thriving with music.

Using data to inform our grant making – we are thoughtful in choosing the organizations and systems we partner with to make sure every child has the opportunity to participate in a high-quality music education.

Our portfolio of giving includes three focus areas within music: Youth Development, Teacher Support, and Research. High impact giving makes up more than 70% of our annual Foundation budget.

  • Youth Development: We invest in programs and partnerships dedicated to increasing music enrichment opportunities and fostering youth empowerment through music education.
  • Teachers: We invest in professional learning opportunities, capacity building, and increasing retention of music educators.
  • Research: We invest resources to gain an understanding of access barriers to music education and utilize data to make informed strategic decisions in our giving.
